Kaitlin Bennett couldn't wait to graduated from Kent State University. Not so she could get started on her career and an exciting new chapter of life, but so she could finally strap on an AR-10 rifle and snap an attention getting photo. Bennett took to Twitter and posted the photo with the caption:
Now that I graduated from Kent State, I can finally arm myself on campus. I should have been able to do so as a student - especially since 4 unarmed students were shot and killed by the government on this campus.
In the photo Bennett holds her graduation cap with the words "come and take it" decorating the top.
Of course the photos were meant to cause a stir and seek out attention. Now that Bennett has received that attention, she is now claiming people are being "racist" toward her. Appearing on Fox New, Bennet said:
I was not expecting the blatant racism that’s been thrown at me. They’re saying that I have white privilege for going out on campus with my AR-10. I think that’s very insulting to minorities. I don’t think that anything bad would happen to them.
We think Philando Castile would probably disagree.
