Sometimes it's not what you say, but how you say it. For one contestant named Jonny, on the game show Wheel of Fortune, this life lesson came at the worst possible time. The puzzle was revieled with all letters turned (Vanna was earning her pay on this puzzle) and all Jonny had to do was read the answer: Flamenco Dance Lessons.
He didn't say that. He said: Flamingo Dance Lessons.
What Jonny did say was goodbye to was $7,100.
The host of WoF Pat Sajak offered a lukewarm "sorry," but the rules are the rules. Sajak went on to say:
What we all heard was — and I know you didn't mean to say it — but, you gave us a 'G' instead of a 'C.'
At least Jonny can take heart that his national blunder is giving Twitter something to talk about for the next 15 minutes, or until they move on to something else.
I'm crazy into Wheel of Fortune right now. The guy just had the entire puzzle on the screen but pronounced "Flamenco" as "Flamingo" & Pat said he didn't win. He's mad & I've never felt more like an old lady for being so into this debacle. pic.twitter.com/93tF0RstpF— Taylor Coleman (@k92taylor) April 9, 2018
