As a former KBG operative Vladimir Putin is no stranger to intimidation tactics, and according to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton even fellow world leaders weren't off limits.
Clinton was in New York on Tuesday, attending a panel at The Wing work space when she called out Putin for being a “world-class misogynist,” who enjoyed using fear tactics with women leaders.
Clinton recalled the story of Putin meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Sochi in 2007. Putin had been briefed by the Kremlin that after being bit in 1995, Merkel was afraid of dogs.
“So, you have these one-on-one meetings. All of a sudden, while the press is still there, this very large black dog came into the room. And he took joy in that. He just… is like that.”
Merkel who spoke with The New Yorker in 2014 said she knew why Putin brought his dog into their meeting.
“I understand why he has to do this — to prove he’s a man. He’s afraid of his own weakness. Russia has nothing, no successful politics or economy. All they have is this.”
Twitter was not surprised to hear about Putin's scare tactics.
I've always thought that about him. He knew well in advance about Merkel's fear of dogs. He's such a dick.— Jacki Leach (@Book_Hog1) April 4, 2018

But some felt Clinton calling Putin a misogynist was throwing stones from a glass house.
is there anyone she doesn't have pet peeves with, its always someone else with her and world-class misogynist” was she referring to her hubby— robert h michie (@roberthmichie) April 4, 2018
And though there seemed to be no love lost for Putin, once again, Clinton became the target of the discussion.
If we haven’t noticed Hillary has a problem with just about everyone.— SOMENYCGUY (@NycrightLtn) April 4, 2018
She loves to make everything about everyone else and pretend it's always bc of misogyny , unreal.— Jami Kay (@jamikr) April 4, 2018
Clinton is currently on a speaking tour promoting her book "What Happened?" in which Clinton explains how she lost the 2016 Presidential election, but hopefully Putin's dog won't get any of the blame.
