Raising a kid can be challenging to say the least, especially once they get to those dreaded teen years. Then, once they're over 18, you can forget about having any sway over their decisions, lest you be hit with the "I'm a legal adult now," speech.
The best you can expect as a parent is that you've done your job, taught your child well, and hope that when they need it most, your words will come back to them, helping to guide and shape their future decision making.
But much to the chagrin of at least one unnamed anti-vax mom—that wasn't the case.
And the internet was there to document her "heartbroken" conversation, with like-minded anti-vaxxers, about it.
Posted in December of last year but just now getting attention now thanks to a Reddit thread that went viral, the woman's comments share insights into not only her fears about vaccination but also her frustration that her daughter would "sneak," behind her back, not heeding her advice and teachings.
According to the posts, the 19-year-old girl received six vaccines from her physician, including those intended to prevent HPV and Meningococcal disease. While some parents might take comfort in what they judge to be evidence of a young person taking responsibility for their own health, this mom seemed devastated—viewing the vaccination as a betrayal of all she'd taught her daughter.

Vaccination is one of the best ways parents can protect infants, children and teens from 16 potentially harmful diseases. Vaccine-preventable diseases can be very serious, may require hospitalization, or even be deadly – especially in infants and young children.
And before she knew it, this mom was hit with the statement of independence all parents dread and the truth of her daughter's legal right to decide what she wants to do with her own body—and you just can't argue with logic like that:
