Melissa McCarthy has become a household name for being one of the funniest ladies in the media. Nominated for Oscars, Golden Globes, and Emmys, she is a total showstopper, giving unforgettable performances on Saturday Night Live, Mike & Molly, and of course, the infamous Bridesmaids. Who could forget that hilarious bathroom scene?
She might be known for on-screen sense of humor, but she has been spending more time behind the scenes, including her most recent project of directing a commercial for Walmart. It will debut during the Oscars, and has a woman who opens a box and discovers a portal to the past.
This had her reflect on what she would do if she were put in the same position and could travel back in time. What would she tell her younger self?
“If I could go back in time and tell my 10-year-old self anything, I would tell her: Don’t worry about what other people think, or about whether you’re doing what they think is the right thing. The things you worry about now, they mostly won’t matter. So just follow your heart.” she explained.
She also dished out advice for her as she battled the hormonal, stressful teenage years:
“I would tell my 16-year-old self, in a few years, you’re going to go nuts. Just be nicer to your mom and dad when you do.” she said.
Now, that is some solid advice that I think all of us can relate to and could have used back in the day.
