Former Patriots Offensive Lineman Matt Light Slams Current Players For Kneeling During Anthem

After Donald Trump's tirade against players "taking a knee" during the National Anthem at football games, more and more players have been following suit in a show of solidarity.

But former Patriots offensive lineman Matt Light was not too happy with his old team:

Light told the Boston Herald:

If you think that it’s OK to take a knee during our national anthem and disrespect openly the national anthem, you are wrong. I don’t care if you have a "but what about" or a "it’s because of," that doesn’t matter.

Responses to Light were swift and pointed:

And the current Patriots have no regret:

NFL players continue to kneel during the National Anthem at games around the country. The Baltimore Ravens, The Denver Broncos, the Cleveland Browns, and the Jacksonville Jaguars also took knees during the National Anthem at their respective games.
