Donald Trump once again had a busy weekend on Twitter. In addition to going after the Red Hen, a small Lexington, VA, restaurant, for asking Press Secretary Sarah Sanders to leave, Trump also attacked Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon regarding an interview he gave to The Hollywood Reporter.
In the interview, Fallon opens up about his regrets for the light-hearted interview he gave Trump leading up to the election. In the segment, Trump allowed Fallon to reach over and muss his hair. With so many eyebrow raising moments with then-candidate Trump, people criticized Fallon for lobbing softballs instead of tough questions.
Fallon said in the interview:
I did not do it to 'normalize' him or to say I believe in his political beliefs or any of that stuff. It's all in the fun of the show. I made a mistake. I'm sorry if I made anyone mad. And, looking back, I would do it differently.
At this point, everyone knows if you say anything critical about the President, it's only a matter of time before he throws a twit-trum. Trump did not disappoint.
.@jimmyfallon is now whimpering to all that he did the famous “hair show” with me (where he seriously messed up my hair), & that he would have now done it differently because it is said to have “humanized” me-he is taking heat. He called & said “monster ratings.” Be a man Jimmy!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) June 25, 2018
Fallon opted to take the high road and responded with the following tweet.
In honor of the President’s tweet I’ll be making a donation to RAICES in his name.— jimmy fallon (@jimmyfallon) June 25, 2018
Twitter supported Fallon's decision.
I’m so proud of you Jimmy 😁 This is the sort of reaction to criticism you expect the POTUS to have, he really is an embarrassing human being. You are more of a man than he has ever been and you should wear your Trump tweet with pride 🤗— Sonya🍀🏳️🌈 (@UK_Falpal) June 25, 2018
Love that Jimmy didn’t escalate. I was reading a piece (I think in Atlantic?) about trolling. It feels like anything you do to draw attention to the troll, the troll wins. Instead, RAICES gets the attention. It’s brilliant and so human.— Caryn - lie, lie smoky eye (@CarynLonz) June 25, 2018
Bravo, Jimmy Fallon!❤️
Stay strong, @jimmyfallon ... you’re one of the best things in society ,especially right now, trying to keep things upbeat &positive &sharing your loving heart w/the world! Don’t let the turkeys get u down! You’re a bright shining soul &a great person! Positive people can see that— Lynn Girardi (@WholeLifeBoogie) June 25, 2018

Jimmy Fallon has learned the same lesson as so many others before him, playing nice with Trump gets you nowhere good.— Schooley (@Rschooley) June 25, 2018
People are growing weary of yet another fight started by Trump.

Red Hen Restaurant
Robert De Niro...
None of these things have anything to do with the job of being president, and yet Trump's felt the need to attack all of them via twitter.
What a little bitch.

But there were some people who criticized Fallon for not remaining neutral.
Did you not like appealing to people on all sides of the political spectrum? It has been one of the most refreshing things about your show these past few years.— Ellie in Ohio (@ronile999) June 25, 2018
The host's "Falpals" came out in big support. (Yes, that's a thing.)
