Grammy Award winning musician/singer, John Legend, who has been nicknamed "the nice guy of R&B" finally had enough and slammed Speaker of the House Paul Ryan for his incredibly tone deaf father's day tweet.
Ryan took to Twitter to share a smiling photo and talk about joy of being a parent, when he very well knows Donald Trump and the GOP's new "no tolerance" immigration policy has ripped 2,000 children away from their parents.
It seems Legend, who is rarely seen without a smile on his face, had enough. We can't say we blame him.
He wrote in a captioned tweet to Ryan:
Seriously, f--- you. Reunite the families at the border and we can talk about father's day.
The reason this is coming into the forefront is that the current administration upped the charges against parents coming over the border to an automatic federal crime where with previous administrations families with children were referred to immigration courts.
What seems on paper to be a slight change has caused significant trauma to children.
Legend wasn't the only one outraged by the total lack of compassion and arrogance of Ryan.
This is the most tone-deaf bullshit I've ever seen.— Holly Figueroa O'Reilly 🌊 BWCS (@AynRandPaulRyan) June 16, 2018
2k children were ripped from their parents. They sleep in pens on 1/2 inch thick mats over concrete floors covered with mylar blankets.
Paul Ryan, who has done nothing to counter this, wishes y'all happy #FathersDay
Get bent. https://t.co/er353NKtO6
Do you think the Father who just killed himself over the grief of having his child taken from him due to Trump and Sessions zero tolerance policy is having a Happy Fathers Day? You and your GOP cohorts are complicit in his death! So enjoy your Fathers Day, Karma's a bitch!— Kathryn Masuch (@MasuchKathryn) June 17, 2018
To make matters even worse, FOX News shared a video of Ryan sharing "Dad jokes" as a way to celebrate Father's day. The first one he tells:
What does and angry pepper do?
It gets jalapeno face.
People are seeing the humor.
