President Trump gave a heartwarming Mother's Day address to his "fellow Americans" on Sunday. "This Sunday is one of the most important days of the year," he said. "It's a special opportunity to thank all the mothers and grandmothers in our lives." He continued by thanking his mother for her strength and devotion, but, unfortunately, he forgot to than his own wife, Melania, who is the mother of his youngest son, Barron.
In his Mother's Day Speech, President Trump shared many loving words about his late mother, Mary Anne MacLeod Trump. "She was just incredible... Warm, loving, really smart, could be tough if she had to be, but basically she was a really nice person. So much of what I’ve done and so much of what I’ve become is because of my mother. I miss her a lot,” he said. MacLeod passed away in 2000.
On top of leaving out Melania, Trump seemed to forget his first two wives, with whom he has four other children.
As of late, Melania has been busy devoting her time to an initiative called Be Best. The campaign focuses on the "social, emotional, and physical health” of children.
Trump and Melania met at a party in 1998. At the time, Trump was separated from Marla Maples; he and Melania began to see one another romantically in the 1990s. They became engaged in 2004, and tied the knot on January 22, 2005.
