Melania And Ivanka Trump Just Got Slammed For Trying To Celebrate International Women's Day On Twitter

Melania and Ivanka Trump each posted to Twitter with messages of celebration for International Women's Day. It didn't go well for either. Both women were called out for what people saw as their hypocritical stance in continuing to support Donald Trump after 19 women have come forward with allegations of sexual misconduct against the President.

The irritation directed at Ivanka seems to come from her taking an official role as adviser to the President, but refusing to answer questions about his past behavior because she claims it's inappropriate to ask her about her father.

With Melania, folks are taking issue with her silence regarding Donald Trump's treatment of women, including his infamous "p—ssy grabbing" comments and his history of online bullying, even though she took on that very subject as an issue she would tackle as First Lady.

Melania Trump tweeted:

Happy #IWD2018  Today we recognize, celebrate & honor women around the globe.  On March 21, I will be at the @StateDept to present the #WomenOfCourage award to some extraordinary women.

And the backlash was swift:

Ivanka didn't fair any better. She tweeted:

Today we come together in recognition of women at home & around the globe. We celebrate women’s achievements, past & present, & pledge to empower women to reach their full economic potential for generations to come. When women thrive, we ALL succeed. #InternationalWomensDay

And Twitter users let her have it:

Sometimes the best tweet is no tweet at all.
