If one were to look at the photos President Donald Trump posted this week on social media, one might think he's having the time of his life instead of presiding over a country suffering through yet another school massacre.
As President Trump and First Lady Melania traveled to Florida to visit with hospital staff and first responders who treated the victims of the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, he was all smiles and thumbs up.
People lashed out at what they felt was an inappropriate response to the continued mass shootings in America.
Why is everyone so happy? I mean, they don't need to be crying in the picture but come on! This picture will be the reminder forever on why the president went there . Be serious at least !!! ITS A SAD MOMENT IN OUR COUNTRY!!!!!!!!— Karina (@Karinartphoto) February 17, 2018
Smiling and thumbs up? Most of us have been distraught about what happened (and keeps happening).— Mary Choice (@mary_choice) February 17, 2018

Trump: "IMA DO A THUMBS UP"
"No sir, please just stand there and--"

Trump’s meeting with the first responders was a somber occasion to reflect on a national tragedy. It is now his twitter handle photo, in which he’s smiling with his thumbs up.— Sam Stein (@samstein) February 17, 2018
Furious may even be an understatement.
Why are people continually surprised by trump's tone-deafness? He is devoid of empathy. He doesn't know what's appropriate. He doesn't give a %## about anyone but himself. This photo op was just a brief stop before tee time at Mar-a-lago. And he thought he looked presidential.— tracy clark (@tracypc6161) February 17, 2018
