Apparently Donald Trump Jr. didn't get the memo stating it's not a good idea to go after an Olympic athlete, especially if that athlete happens to be America's Sweetheart, figure skater, Adam Rippon.
But that's just what he did.
Of course Trump Jr. failed to mention the tweets where Vice-President Mike Pence specifically sent messages to Rippon.
Rippon for his part has made it very clear he wants nothing to do with Pence, because of his support of anti-LGBT legislation.
Parker Molloy, senior staff writer for Upworthy and Good Magazine, was having none of it and brought plenty of receipts to prove it.
Also, to the best of my knowledge, the only time Rippon has talked about Pence during the Olympics has been *when he was specifically asked about Pence.*— Parker Molloy (@ParkerMolloy) February 14, 2018
Once again, I took the liberty of creating a shortcut to an archive of Pence's campaign website where he pushes for federal funding of "institutions which provide assistance to those seeking to change their sexual behavior." Twitter users weighed in to show support for Rippon.

Team Adam certainly seems to be winning!
Look at the difference in achievement, humanity, integrity between these 2 young men. Go Adam!— LivinginNYC (@GailJanowitz) February 14, 2018
Jeez, Jr. sure seems like a jerk. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.— Linda Horrell (@Lhorrell) February 14, 2018
For his part Rippon, with his trademark cheeky humor, also sent out a tweet this morning regarding all the talk.
With everything going on in the media about me this Valentine’s Day I don’t want people to get distracted and forget how beautiful I am (on the outside)— Adam Rippon (@Adaripp) February 14, 2018
The judges for the smack-down Olympics give Rippon a 9.9 and Trump Jr. a .03
