Trump's Evangelical Adviser Says Flu Shots Aren't Necessary If You Have Jesus

As the old maxim goes, you can judge a person's character by the people they choose to surround themselves with. If that's true, we should all be very afraid. One of President Donald Trump's spiritual advisers, Gloria Copeland, who founded the Kenneth Copeland Ministries in Texas, posted a reckless and dangerous message about the flu season.

According to Copeland there is no need to get a flu shot, because Jesus has GOT THIS.

Copeland said in her message:

Well, listen, partners, we don’t have a flu season. And don’t receive it when somebody threatens you with, ‘Everybody’s getting the flu.’ We’ve already had our shot: He [Jesus] bore our sicknesses and carried our diseases. That’s what we stand on.

No word on where Jesus was while 53 children were dying from flu-related illnesses. You can watch the full clip below.

We hope Copeland, who is 76, and Trump, 70,  have plenty of Jesus on hand. The flu is particularly brutal to seniors.

Twitter responded in kind:

Hmmm... this Twitter user may be onto something here:

And then there was this heartbreaking post:

People are getting more and more frustrated with this sort of nonsense:

This isn't the first time the Copeland family and their Texas Megachurch has dealt with a viral outbreak. In 2013,  a man infected with the measles visited the family's Eagle Mountain International Church, and soon 21 people, mostly who had not received vaccines, had come down with the measles.

It did not go unnoticed that these practices are dangerous whether it's the flu or the measles.
