President Trump reportedly paid a staggering $130,000 to porn star Stormy Daniels a month before the 2016 election to hide an affair the two of them had years ago. Interestingly, that exact amount of money was transferred a month after the election, from the Trump Campaign to the Trump Tower Commercial LLC. Disbursed on December 21, the $130,000 was written off as "rent" to Hicksville, New York.
While there is no evidence the two are connected, a lot of people are asking that the expense be looked into.
Citizens for Ethics in Washington (CREW) shared the detailed information via Twitter:
President Trump is accused of paying $130,000 in hush money to porn star Stormy Daniels to hide an affair a month before the election. In what is probably just a coincidence, the Trump campaign transferred $130K to the Trump businesses a month after the election. pic.twitter.com/KKknIC9ClC— Citizens for Ethics (@CREWcrew) January 23, 2018
Jokes came rolling in, poking fun at... well, everything about this situation:
Coincidence? Twitter thinks not.
Ouch - that's an unusual number to be a coincidence. $125K, sure. $150K. Fine. But $130K? I'm not buying it.— Wendy McCord (@WMcCord128) January 23, 2018
And chalking it up to Trump's ever-growing list of questionable expenses:

What do you think, rent or hush money?
