A Poll Just Put Oprah Winfrey Against President Trump—And We're Totally On Board

This past Sunday Oprah Winfrey gave a rousing speech at the Golden Globes when she became the first woman of color to win the Cecil B. DeMille Award. In her speech, Winfrey touched on systemic racism and misogyny, as well as the importance of free speech and the need to call out injustice. And she wrapped it all up with an inspiring call to action.

If you haven't seen it, you should watch the full speech. Seriously.

Social media immediately exploded with the idea that Oprah should run for President in 2020.

On Monday, Winfrey's longtime partner Stedman Graham stoked the fires by telling the LA Times that, "she would absolutely do it." And then Rasmussen conducted a poll, which they released Wednesday, pitting Oprah against President Trump. Their results show that if the election were held today, Winfrey would beat the President by ten points. This is especially interesting considering the fact that Rasmussen polls often lean to the right.

Many people on Twitter had reservations about a Winfrey presidency:

And others expressed skepticism and hypocrisy:

But Jamie was shocked that her margin wasn't bigger:

Will Oprah really run? Only time will tell.
