Apparently Russian President Vladimir Putin called President Trump Sunday to thank him for a warning given by U.S. intelligence agencies that helped Russia evade a terrorist attack in St. Petersburg. What next?
According to the Washington Times:
The White House said information that the U.S. provided had enabled Russian authorities to capture the terrorists “just prior to an attack that could have killed large numbers of people.” No Russian lives were lost, and “the information received from the CIA proved sufficient to find and detain the criminal suspects,” the Kremlin said.
It wasn't the only time the two spoke this week:
Trump and Putin spoke by phone today, the second time in four days. On Thurs, Trump called to thank Putin for stock market praise. Today, Putin called Trump to thank him for a CIA tip, per Kremlin.— Philip Rucker (@PhilipRucker) December 17, 2017
Though it's always a good thing when a terrorist attack is thwarted, Twitter's wasn't having it:
Congress needs to act now to know what is going on. Putin is coaching him. If something happens we know who it came from. Trump giving out confidential CIA information? Hey Congress wake up!— Omega Man (@Omega4632) December 17, 2017
Something seriously broken to hear about these calls from the Kremlin before the WH. Or, are they one in the same?— Danielle🖖🏼🌵 (@SW_Crisis) December 17, 2017
Some took it as a sign of hope:
plotting and scheming ...... mueller may be closer than we know ....— zoli osaze (@zaswadosaze) December 17, 2017
Others took it as a sign of something else altogether:
No, YOU hang up first. No, I love YOU more. Get a room already, you two.— Dandy Farnsworth (@DandyFarnswort1) December 17, 2017
He spends more time talking to his bestie (aka Putin) than he does his wife! This bromance has been blossoming more & more! This is true love! I wish them the best!— Shae Williams (@shaegotbutta) December 17, 2017
