Donald Trump is in China and he brought a special gift for Chinese President Xi Jinping. In a video, Trump's granddaughter, Arabella Kushner, sings and recites poems in Mandarin. This isn't the only time the six-year-old has entertained President Xi and First Lady Peng Liyuan.
The first time was in 2016, when the Chinese president and his wife visited Mar-A-Largo. Then five-year-old Arabella performed a Chinese folk song for the couple. The video from the event went viral in China, receiving 10 million views in two days. It seems the young Kushner is quite the internet celebrity in China.
I don’t care whose granddaughter she is, that is quite impressive. Congratulation to this young girl!— Clarence Darrow (@CS_Darrow) November 9, 2017
Trump’s 6 year old granddaughter can speak fluent Mandarin and I’m over here barely knowing Spanish 😅— Chris Layfield (@LayfieldChris) November 9, 2017
Of course, not every child has a bilingual full-time nanny like Xixi, who is responsible for teaching Arabella to speak Mandarin. Ivanka Trump mentions the word "nanny" once in her book, Women Who Work: Rewriting the Rules for Success, saying:
Some of my best photos of the kids were taken by my nanny during the day. (I’m sure in ten years I’ll convince myself I took them!)
Trump does thank Xixi in the acknowledgments.
