Reporters caught Donald Trump as he prepared to head out to a fundraising event recently. He answered multiple questions pertaining to things like John Kelly and Rex Tillerson. He also took time to address the allegations of sexual harassment leveled against Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein. Trump shared his thoughts:
As reporters reacted, one particularly brave voice spoke up. Elizabeth Landers of CNN asked the POTUS directly how accusations against Weinstein differed from his own sexual harassment troubles.
The President told me that was "locker room talk" and then moved on the next question.— Elizabeth Landers (@ElizLanders) October 7, 2017
Trump's comment came one year after Access Hollywood released tapes in which the then-presidential candidate bragged about advancing on women without their consent, including the now-infamous "Grab 'em by the p*ssy" remark.
Of course he isn't surprised. He ran in the same circles.— Nancy M Ruff (@eighthdayarts) October 7, 2017
So, talk is the same as action to you? One man talks, the other has a lifetime pattern of harassment and that's equal to you?— Christopher R Taylor (@KestrelArts) October 8, 2017
I blame the Pope. He had Trump right there in Vatican, and he did not even attempt exorcism. At least sprinkle some holy water...— CatDrivesF150 (@PickUpTrucksFan) October 7, 2017
Funny how he says he’s not surprised by Harvey Weinstein -not that it’s unacceptable, deplorable behavior.— Elisa Zied (@elisazied) October 8, 2017
But bill Clinton was ok to you after his affairs and diddling Monica in the oral office. Another democrat rapist.— American Wolverines (@untwin34) October 7, 2017
