Trump Makes Incorrect ‘Top Gun’ Film Reference, And The Internet Let Him Have It
By Tom.

Trump may need to do a few movie nights in that fancy White House theater.

While giving a speech to U.S. Air Force members at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland, Mr. Trump joked about his audience being “better looking” than Hollywood star Tom Cruise. Trump said:

I just met a lot of these folks, they are better looking than Tom Cruise and we know they can fight better and we know they can fly better. They better be able to. Great people.

It seemed the President didn't realize he incorrectly referenced Cruise’s role as Maverick in the hit 1986 movie Top Gun. Cruise’s character was in the Navy, not the Air Force.

The Twitter reckoning began within minutes:

Does the President know the difference between the Air Force and the Navy?

Now we wait for tweets in the wee hours about how this is "fake news," though it was recorded and witnessed by many. That's never mattered before.
