Man Tweets Obama’s Biggest Controversy From Three Years Ago, And We’re Going To Cry
Updated 9 months ago

Yesterday Twitters users commemorated the anniversary of a "simpler" political time. Remember back in 2014, when a whirlwind of controversy stirred around then-President Obama's decision to wear a tan suit during a press conference? The non-scandal made for some humorous Tweets at the time.

Yesterday's discussion was a sad reminder of a more carefree political landscape:

Yes. Yes they were:

We cry about it now, but at least we could laugh about it then:

New York Republican Rep. Peter King was a particularly vocal opponent. On NewsMaxTV, King said:

There's no way any of us can excuse what the president did yesterday.

The fashion industry was quick to come to President Obama's defense. Men's Wearhouse chief creative director and fashion designer Joseph Abboud, who had made clothes for Obama as head of Hart Schaffner Marx, pointed out that wearing a tan suit in August is hardly a fashion faux-pas.

Abboud told HuffPost:

I applaud him for wearing a tan suit. You don’t want to look the same every day of your life. It’s boring as hell.

Oh, Tan Suit Scandal. You remind us of a time when we didn't know how good we had it.
