Bastardi has had a career denying climate change and on Hannity's program claims that the extremity of Hurricane Harvey has nothing to do with climate change. Bastardi said, “We have to counter this agenda that it's because of a magic CO2 dust fairy that's throwing stuff in the air that's making it all happen.”

JOE BASTARDI: People don't understand how vulnerable our coasts are. When you look at what happened in Florida in the 1940s, on the East Coast in the 1950s, it’s almost as if there was an atmospheric apocalypse going on with the way hurricanes were just running the coast. And they fell away for a while. They're coming back now. And, of course, now we have to counter this agenda that it's because of a magic CO2 dust fairy that's throwing stuff in the air that's making it all happen.
SEAN HANNITY (HOST): That's another reason why we love you is because you fight back with facts and information about this global warming/global cooling/climate change hysteria constantly.
BASTARDI: Don't get me started.
In the interview below from The Sean Hannity Show in 2009, Bastardi uses winter snowstorms as an example of why global warming is a myth.
Today the San Antonio News-Express reported that, "Global warming is making the oceans hotter, fueling the intensity and flooding potential of storms like Harvey, climate scientists said as the hurricane approached."
