White House chief strategist Steve Bannon is making headlines after a remarkably candid phone interview in which he basically shot down President Trump's "fire and fury" approach to North Korea, mused about his enemies in the administration "wetting themselves," and even called the alt-right "losers" and "clowns," all while assuming the conversation was "off the record."

Steve Bannon joins The Mooch and Lorelai Gilmore in not knowing that reporters publish things you say out loud in interviews.— Dave Jorgenson (@davejorgenson) August 17, 2017
Steve Bannon made an uncharacteristic mistake in trusting a liberal journalist. Thats why Im careful who I do interviews with. Bad idea.— Carmine Sabia (@CarmineSabia) August 17, 2017
I asked the source what they thought Bannon was doing taking military option off table w/ North Korea. Ans: "On that one, I have no idea."— Eli Stokols (@EliStokols) August 17, 2017
