The winery that Trump has claimed to own denies having anything to do with him.
At the tail end of President Donald Trump's ill-fated press conference earlier this week at which he claimed there was "blame on both sides" for the violence in Charlottesville, Trump boasted of owning a winery in Charlottesville, Virginia.
"I own actually one of the largest wineries in the United States. It is in Charlottesville."
He repeated this fun fact multiple times.
And it did not go unnoticed.
But we have a fun fact of our own: turns out this "Trump winery" in fact does not belong to Donald Trump at all. They even have disclaimers on their website clarifying as much:
"Trump Winery is a registered trade name of Eric Trump Wine Manufacturing LLC, which is not owned, managed, or affiliated with Donald J. Trump, The Trump Organization, or any of their affiliates."
To make matters worse for Donald, Annette Boyd, a director of the Virginia wine board, tells us that it is not one of the largest wineries of its kind in the U.S. It's not even the largest winery in Virginia.
Again, Twitter had to rub it in.
It's OK that you don't own everything, Donald...
